In 1955, while in another business, our Company Founder and President was approached by a salesman who claimed to have the best "ALL Purpose Cleaner" on the market. He allowed the salesman to demonstrate the product, and then agreed to purchase it as an all purpose cleaner. As soon as the salesman felt that he had made the sale he changed his tune and advised our President that, in addition to the "All Purpose Cleaner", our President would need a degreaser, a wax remover, a carpet cleaner, a steam cleaner, a window cleaner, etc... The salesman knew that his product was NOT an all purpose cleaner. Our President asked him this simple question, "How can you call this an all purpose cleaner and still convince me I need all of these other products? It just doesn't make sense." The salesman obviously lost the sale, but he planted the seeds of an Idea that drove our Founder to develope the TRUE all purpose cleaner on the market today: BLAST OFF®

The search for BLAST OFF® was not easy. A chemical consultant was hired: Laboratory equipment was purchased along with thousands of potential raw materials, and what seemed like millions of formulations were made and then discarded. With each new formulation came testing. We formulated and tested until we ran out of things on which to test and had to go to the neighbors' business to find things on which we could continue to test.

More than once the thought of giving up arose, but BLAST OFF®'s development continued. Eventully other scientists and chemical engineers were hired as consultants. Different approaches were tried. Dozens of formulations were found that worked on one or two or maybe three types of soil, until finally success! The develpoment of the one product that would work safely on almost any type of soil. Once development was completed, we had to find a market and that was also not easy. Every chemical company in existence "claimed" to have an "all" or "multi" purpose cleaner, yet they all continued to sell a different cleaner for each different task

Regardless of how good our BLAST OFF® is, it took nearly forty years to market it successfully. During those forty years our Founder logged millions of miles of travel and sold to thousands of loyal BLAST OFF® customers. Once we proved to a customer that we have the only true "MULTI PURPOSE ALL IN ONE CLEANER" that customer kept coming back for more.

Elscointl® is finally recognized as a leader in the chemical industry. If you have not heard of us before, it is because Elscointl® was and is a specialty company. Our Founder targeted our market and we stay within it. We now primarily manufacture two products, and we manufacture them both to perfection: all forms of biodegradable BLAST OFF® and Put a Halt to Rust®, a rust inhibitor and remover. Only after the sudden, universal surge of concern for the environment and the ecological balance did the world start beating a path to our door. Elscointl® has been a leader in this fight even before government intervention or it was politically correct to do so.

Elscointl® is now an international corporation with offices and plants located on the east and west coasts of the United States, and in Germany, Japan, and the Czech Republic. We were the first American Specialty Chemical Company to enter Eastern Europe and we are still there growing everyday.
